Keeping You Safe On Your Trip

Your health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. First, many of our staff and crew have been vaccinated against Covid-19. Second, through the pandemic we have been implementing a set of new procedures to provide an extra level of safety and comfort to all who travel with us. Those procedures were loosened in 2022. Below is a summary of the key procedures being implemented by our company from 2022 onwards:

  • All staff and crew have received education about transmission of the Covid-19 virus and the changes that need to be made for personal interactions, such as advanced hygiene measures, sanitization and physical distancing when possible.
  • All staff and crew will wear masks upon request only. We also highly recommend our guests wear masks when in public places around others (i.e. airport, restaurants, hotel lobbies, etc.).
  • Upon request only, your personal contact will be limited to as few Pristine Trails staff and crew as possible.
  • All vehicles will be thoroughly sanitized before each trip, including all surfaces, door handles, binoculars, guide books, etc.
  • All climbing equipment will be sanitized before each use.
  • Hand sanitizer, and/or liquid soap and water will be provided on all trips for additional handwashing of both guests and staff.

Current Entry Requirements (updated 29 March 2022):

For all arriving passengers, the Government of Tanzania requires completion of a Health Declaration Form 24 hours prior to your arrival in Tanzania.

For fully vaccinated travelers, you must present a valid vaccination certificate with QR code for verification upon arrival. There are no other requirements.

For unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated travelers, the Government of Tanzania requires:
1) A negative PCR test result within 72 hours prior to your arrival in Tanzania.
2) A rapid test will also be administered at the airport for some arriving passengers. Upon completion of the online form, you will be told if a rapid test will be required for you or not and if so, will be prompted to pay the fee.

Arrivals into Zanzibar: If your international flight arrives into Zanzibar before Mainland Tanzania, and you are traveling from the UAE, there is one additional testing requirement on arrival. Please contact us for details.
