A negative COVID-19 Test is mandatory for travelers. Over the past few weeks, there have been changes made to regulations and processes affecting travelers to Tanzania. Although it is likely guaranteed that the situation will change yet again in the coming weeks, we want to update on the current lay of the land as we know it.
A slew of countries now require proof of a negative COVID-19 test upon return from your trip to Tanzania. Specifically, all air travelers must be tested within 3 calendar days, 72 hours, prior to your departure flight from Tanzania. Travelers must provide proof of a negative test result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding your flight in Tanzania.
Countries such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, to mention a few, require that passengers must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three calendar days of travel. We are also seeing countries requiring passengers in transit to show proof of a negative test before boarding flights from Tanzania. This has been the case for the Netherlands where clients transit through on KLM / Delta.
Please read up on your designated country of origin when planning for your trip and check with your airline prior to departure.
