How far in advance should I book my trip to Tanzania?
To ensure the best selection of accommodations and guaranteed availability for your preferred activities, we recommend reaching out as early as possible. Ideally, this means booking 6 to 12 months in advance. However, if your travel plans are more spontaneous, don’t worry—we’re happy to work with you and check availability even as little as one month prior to your desired travel dates.

When reaching out, please share as many details as possible—such as your preferred travel dates, number of travelers, activities of interest (e.g., safari, Kilimanjaro trekking, cultural experiences), estimated budget, and any special requests. The more you tell us, the better we can design a custom itinerary tailored to you.
I’ve submitted my inquiry—what happens next?
Once we receive your initial inquiry, a member of our team will respond within 24–48 hours. Your adventure specialist will send you a proposed itinerary along with information on accommodation options, pricing, availability, and suggested activities.
From there, we’ll collaborate with you to refine the itinerary, answer any questions, and adjust the details until it’s just right. This process may involve a few back-and-forth communications, and we love getting to know you along the way!
How do I confirm my Tanzania trip with Pristine Trails?
When you’re happy with your itinerary and the proposed pricing, we’ll send you an invoice.
- If you are booking more than 90 days before your travel dates, we require a 30% deposit to confirm your reservation.
- The remaining balance is due 90 days prior to the start of your trip.
- For trips booked within 90 days of travel, we ask for full payment at the time of booking to secure all reservations.
Payment can be made via bank transfer or credit card.
I’ve booked! What should I do to prepare?
Once your trip is confirmed, we’ll provide a comprehensive preparation package to help you get ready. This includes:

- Visa guidance – including a link to our Applying For Your Tourist Visa post
- Airline and airport recommendations
- Details on what to expect when you arrive in Tanzania
We recommend applying for your visa at least two months before your departure via Tanzania’s online visa system. Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond the final day of your trip.
You will be requested to provide important information, including:
- Passport details
- Arrival and departure flight info
- Dietary restrictions and medical needs
- Travel insurance information
