Year in Review: As we embark on a new year, we wanted to take a look back at 2019 and highlight a few key events, achievements and developments in the company.
We trekked…
45%… of clients chose the Lemosho route
40%… of clients chose the Machame route
92%… of clients stood on the Rooftop of Africa
We celebrated…
We were happy to have celebrated all sorts of events with our guests. We ate many birthday cakes on Mt. Kilimanjaro, celebrated new marriages with honeymoon trips on treks and safaris, paid tribute to a loved one by spreading ashes atop Kilimanjaro, family reunions and plenty of first trips to the continent.
We also hosted a trip of discovery and healing. For many, travel is an opportunity of self-discovery, an opportunity to re energize and challenge oneself outside the norm. One client took the challenge in pursuit of finding hope and healing after a decade-long journey. See the beautiful short film of his experience here.
We supported local communities…
We hosted a charity trek to raise funds for Knock Foundation, a local organization sponsoring Tanzanian students with educational scholarships.
Through our partnership with the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project, our clients provided a fair wage and steady income to over 150 porters throughout the year.
We invested in our team…
Our entire team of trekking guides (assistants and leads) took part in a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) refresher course in April. We also congratulated one of our long-time assistant guides as a new lead guide after passing the full WFR course and becoming certified.
We were awarded…
For the fourth year in a row, Pristine Trails was awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, reflecting our continued commitment to providing our clients with once-in-a-lifetime trips. Thank you to all past clients for taking the time to write glowing reviews of your experiences with us.
We welcomed new babies…
Two of our staff members had babies this year. Peter, our safari driver, and Aisha, our office secretary, each welcomed sons.
