That’s why we’ve introduced our new Flexible Booking Policy to give you peace of mind, so you can confidently book your next trip with Pristine Trails while eliminating your risk.

You choose from either our Basic Flex or Ultimate Flex booking options, depending on what makes you the most comfortable.

Both of our Flex Options give you freedom from financial worry or tie-in by allowing you, when necessary, to delay your tour and transfer your payment to another date of your choice.

Q. How do the Basic Flex and Ultimate Flex booking policies work exactly?

Both Basic Flex and Ultimate Flex allow you to change your booking date with Pristine Trails. The level of flexibility is entirely up to you and which payment option you choose.

Basic Flex and Ultimate Flex will apply to all new reservations made for travel dates through December 2022. Below is a summary of the main aspects of the two policies. Read on for full details.

BASIC FLEX

To secure your booking for any tour of your choice, right now a deposit of just $300 per traveler is required. This deposit is collected as part of the inclusive fare.

The full trip balance is due 60 days prior to the tour start date.

Where the $300 deposit has been paid and you wish to amend your booking, the following terms apply:

1. Changes you can make:

  • The dates of travel
  • The tour package (you can move to an alternative tour entirely)

2. You are able to make a maximum of 1 change. We ask that you make this change as soon as possible and at the very latest 60 days before the scheduled tour start date.

3. If you choose to change the dates of your tour, the new tour dates must be within 12 months of the originally booked tour date.

4. If your rescheduled tour dates are in 2021 or 2022, the balance of the tour will be invoiced and payable 60 days before the new tour start date. If your rescheduled tour dates are in 2023, the balance of the tour will be invoiced to you and payable 90 days before the new tour start date and subject to our standard Terms & Conditions.

5. You accept that any accommodation properties proposed at the time of booking cannot be guaranteed until either a deposit in the amount of 30% of the trip cost, or the full balance, is paid. Once you have made either of these two payments, if any or all of the originally proposed properties are unavailable, Pristine Trails will reserve accommodation that is of comparable standards and notify you prior to finalizing the booking.

6. Credit vouchers: We understand that you may be uncertain as to when you will be able to travel. Credit vouchers for the full value of the deposit paid can be issued in cases where you plan to postpone your trip but are uncertain as to when you will be able to travel. The vouchers will have a validity period of 12 months, and can be gifted to another person of your choice if you decide not to travel within that period.

7. Private Groups: For private groups, we will ask the whole group to make changes as a group. If the group size reduces due to a change, a re-pricing of the tour may be required.

ULTIMATE FLEX

3. If you choose to change the dates of your tour, the new tour dates must be within 24 months of the originally booked tour date.

4. If your rescheduled tour dates are in 2021 or 2022, the balance of the tour will be invoiced and payable 30 days before the new tour start date. If your rescheduled tour dates are in 2023, the balance of the tour will be invoiced to you and payable 90 days before the new tour start date and subject to our standard Terms & Conditions.

5. More on credit vouchers: Credit vouchers for the full value of the deposit paid can be issued in cases where you plan to postpone your trip but are uncertain as to when you will be able to travel. The vouchers will have a validity period of 24 months, and can be gifted to another person of your choice if you decide not to travel within that period.

Q: Once I’ve chosen my Flex Option and booked a trip, when is the trip balance due?

BASIC FLEX

Your trip balance is due 60 days prior to the scheduled start of your tour. If you do make changes to your travel dates before this time, and your new dates are in 2021 or 2022, your balance will be payable 60 days before the new tour start date. If your rescheduled tour dates are in 2023, the balance of the tour will be invoiced to you and payable 90 days before the new tour start date and subject to our standard Terms & Conditions.

At any time before making your balance payment, you can choose to pay a 30% deposit and move into the Ultimate Flex booking option.

ULTIMATE FLEX

Your trip balance is due 30 days prior to the scheduled start of your tour. If you do make changes to your travel dates before this time, and your new dates are in 2021 or 2022, your balance will be payable 30 days before the new tour start date. If your rescheduled tour dates are in 2023, the balance of the tour will be invoiced to you and payable 90 days before the new tour start date and subject to our standard Terms & Conditions.

Q: How many times can I change my booking?

BASIC FLEX entitles you to make 1 amendment to your original booking, including date and tour, up to 60 days before the scheduled tour start date.

Once you have used your free Basic Flex amendment, you cannot change dates again unless you pay a 30% deposit so that the Ultimate Flex option applies.

ULTIMATE FLEX entitles you to make 2 amendments to your original booking, including date and tour, up to 30 days before the scheduled tour start date.

Q: Is there a time limit within which I can rebook after I change my original booking?

BASIC FLEX allows you to reschedule your trip within a 12-month period from your original tour start date.

ULTIMATE FLEX allows you to reschedule your trip within a 24-month period from your original tour start date.

Q: If I book a tour that includes flights and I wish to change it, what happens?

If Pristine Trails has booked you flights as part of the package, these will be considered non-refundable and the cost of those services will not be transferable to new dates. However, we will do our absolute best to get this cost credited to your future booking.

Q: What if I want to move my deposit to a date/tour which costs more or less than my original tour?

That’s no problem!

If you have paid a deposit only, the following applies for both Flex Options:

Your deposit will be re-allocated to the new booking against the total value of the new tour, and we will then issue a new invoice for the balance of the tour, payable 60 days (Basic Flex) or 30 days (Ultimate Flex) before the new tour start date if traveling in 2021 or 2022, or payable 90 days before the new tour start date if traveling in 2023 (trips in 2023 are subject to our standard Terms & Conditions).

If your trip is paid in full, the following applies for both Flex Options:

If the new date/tour is priced higher than the original tour, you will be invoiced for the difference in price and this amount will be invoiced and payable at the time of re-booking.

If the new date/tour is priced lower than the original tour, you will be refunded the difference in price via the original payment method used, less transaction fees.

As with all Pristine Trails bookings, all quotations are based on the current rates of national park fees, value added tax (VAT), other government taxes, accommodation rates and current exchange rates. In the event that any of these are increased or a new tax introduced, these increases will be added to the cost of your trip even if your trip has already been paid for.

Q: I have a credit voucher. How do I use it or gift it to another?

Credit vouchers are valid for 12 months (Basic Flex) or 24 months (Ultimate Flex), and can be gifted to another person of your choice if you decide not to travel yourself.

If you choose to gift your credit voucher, we will need to be notified in writing via email and informed of the recipient’s name, email address and telephone number.

The recipient of your credit voucher must use the voucher within the original validity period. To re-book a tour using a voucher, simply contact our sales team.

Q: I want to cancel my booking altogether. Can I have a refund of my deposit?

The following terms apply for trip cancellations due specifically to the Covid-19 pandemic, such as travel bans, travel restrictions, cancelled flights or new quarantine rules. The refund policy outlining the cancellation fee payable by you to Pristine Trails is as follows:

BASIC FLEX

> 60 days: $300 deposit
59-30 days: 20% of total trip price
29-11 days: 35% of total trip price
10-0 days: 70% of total price

ULTIMATE FLEX

> 30 days: $500 of your deposit
29-11 days: 35% of total trip price
10-0 days: 70% of total price

Instead of canceling, you have the option to transfer any payments made to a credit voucher. This voucher is valid for 12 or 24 months depending on the Flex Option you chose, and can be gifted to another person of your choice if you choose not to travel.
